Good Afternoon My Magical Friends!
This isn’t the first time around for me in exploring the Disney College Program, but it is the first time that I have my parents on board for letting me go if I get accepted again. I decided to start this blog on the basis of I appreciated having these blogs available to me as I was researching. I’d like to think that my experience can also have an impact on another Mouse or Princess that is deciding to adventure towards magic.
I got accepted for the Spring Program of 2015 but there were some complications in my life that I would rather not delve into that made me accepting the offer impossible. I applied in the middle of my ENG 101class actually, so needless to say, I took it seriously, but didn’t really consider that I would or even could be accepted. This time around however, I blocked out a better part of my day to fully analyze the questions and more specifically, the choices for roles.
This is something I greatly would advise all other appliers to do. Sitting down and REALLY READING what you would be doing for an entire semester is beneficial. Even if you have to open up a new tab and do some research on how other Programmers felt about the job, it helps in the long run. Yes, Disney enjoys people who are flexible, but they also want to make sure that this experience is one that you will enjoy. Getting offered a job that is something you really don’t want to do but agreed to so Disney would think you’re trying to please them, isn’t the best way to go. You want to love the job you get. It’s Disney after all!
After you complete and send in your application, you sit and wait for a while. I don’t know if it was because I had done the web based interview before, applied the day it became available, or because they thought I was a good candidate, but an hour after my application went through, I was offered a phone interview. (There will be more talk about each individual interview later). So, in all, on February 12, 2015 I will have my phone interview with a recruiter and until then I am cramming as much information as I can into head and talking to my school advisors as much as possible. And of course, making vlogs and writing blogs.
Have a Magical Day!
